When it comes to self-tanning and spray tans, even celebrities can’t avoid the occasional mishap. Brooklyn Decker posted a video of her husband Andy Roddick catching her in the act of working out in a swimsuit, in hopes of avoiding smudging her fresh spray tan.
Unfortunately, she didn’t account for the possibility of sweat wreaking its own havoc, and as Roddick asked her “What spray tan?” you could see the realization that she may have made a big mistake dawning on her face (as well as rivers of said spray tan running down her neck). “She failed,” Decker captioned the video.
She’s hardly the first celebrity to have a bad encounter with the high-maintenance makeup. Read on for some more of the biggest celeb spray-tan fails ever.

So [I] put on some of this tanning lotion and it looked really beautiful and very even,“the star explained in aVogueBeauty Secrets video, a few years after the event. “As the evening kept going on it was getting a little darker and darker.”
By the time she got to her seat, she knew something was amiss “I look at a photo of myself when I sit down and I am completely orange,” she said, laughing. “I was like, ‘This is going to be terrible because I’m going to get eaten alive about this.'”
She made light of it the night of, posting a silly video of herself sprinting away from the event after she “saw her pictures from MET. As an insider said at the time, “In person, she honestly felt great but not everything looks the same as it does in person. She was just clapping back at people who were commenting on her tan and hair and wanted to make a joke about it.”

She’s no stranger to airbrush tans — but sometimes, they don’t go as planned. Kardashian oncetold Chrissy Teigenthat her tan rubbed off on daughter North West’s mouth while she was breast feeding her. And in another incident, Kardashiantells Ellen DeGeneresthat when she and husband Kanye West were living with Kris Jenner, her spray tanner’s tent wouldn’t fit in her bedroom, so they had to resort to the entryway of her house.
“I forgot that my little sisters obviously live there, they walk in with all their friends, and I’m butt naked in her entry. So embarrassing.”

After a fairly messy spray tan situation a few years back, Teigenshared a photo on Snapchat,showing a bronze outline of her body on her white sheets.
And recently, Teigenshared a throwback photoof herself and John Legend at theGrammy Awards, in which she was very bronzed. The star wrote of her look, “Grammys 2008. 10 years ago. This tan!!! Lmao.”

For Michele, it wasn’t a too-dark formula or a drop of water that ruined her glow. The star once said that after an at-home tanning session, she headed to the studio — and that’s where the unexpected happened.
“I put my feet up to take a nice lunch break and one of the managers had their dog,“she explained.“The dog jumped on my lap and I was like, ‘Oh, so cute!’ and he went to pick up the dog and the dog peed all over me!”
