A bride is recalling one of the best decisions she made for her wedding: hiring a content creator.
In a personal essay posted onkidspot.com, Alison Petrillo reveals how the idea to enlist someone to capture her wedding for social media struck her while perusing Instagram for wedding inspiration. She envisioned the joy of sharing her wedding moments, hoping to spark inspiration in other couples planning their special day.
“As I began planning the big day, I started hearing about the concept of hiring a ‘wedding content creator’ to capture natural, behind-the-scenes photos and videos,” the newlywed wrote.
“I then saw that my friend Kristine, the Founder and Creative Director of The Modern Brides BFF, offered this service, and after watching some of the content she created - I was hooked,” she added. “I reached out to her about six to seven weeks before my wedding, and we went from there.”

Though Petrillo knew she could handle capturing content herself, she realized that outsourcing it would allow her to be fully immersed in her special day.
Petrillo added: “She was also there to hype me up and added so much love and warmth to the day. The icing on the cake was the quick turnaround of getting the content back. We were sent everything the next day, which meant we could keep reliving the magic of it all so soon afterwards.”

Now, with the wedding in the rearview mirror, Petrillo finds herself revisiting the footage and proudly sharing it with friends and family. “Well, to this day, it was one of the best decisions I made for our wedding,” she wrote.
“For anyone thinking about hiring a content creator for their big day, I say - if it’s within your budget, do it!” she continued. “They are just my favourite videos from my wedding and always make me so emotional and happy to relive those moments.”
