Hyland and Wells first flirted on Twitter in 2016 but didn’t get together until the fall of 2017. They’ve been going strong ever since and have been living together since August 2018, when Adamsmoved to L.A.
She told PEOPLE thatmoving in together“brought us closer.”
“I don’t think it’s been long enough to discover pet peeves with each other,” she said. “I think we’re in the honeymoon phase of living together. It’s good that nothing is already starting, because then I think that would be a bad sign.”
Last October, the couplecelebrated their one-year anniversary.
“It’s been really weirdly normal,” Adams told PEOPLEof their relationship. “That question gets asked a lot because you expect the answer to be like,it’s crazy because it’s in the spotlight, but for whatever reason, it’s been really nice and normal and wonderful.”
While the duo is happy and in love, they’ve endured hardships together.

“Wells is so good to her,” a source close to the actress, who met Adams in person for the first time just days before she went into surgery, told PEOPLE. “He’s beenincredibly supportive.”
“She will have to deal with this for the rest of her life,” the source said. “It’s a chronic illness. She’s still working through it.”
But through it all, she’ll have Adams to lean on.
“He’s seen me at my worst,” she recently toldSELF. “He was there through all of that. I think that’s why I feel the most beautiful in his eyes, because he still finds me beautiful after seeing all that.”
