The award , founded by Tom Sullam and Paul Joynson - Hicks MBE , aim to use laugh to raise awareness for wildlife conservation . A panel of evaluator pores through the images to find out the good and funniest each year .

Aside from those mentioned above , the early entries also include a squirrel take a good old sigh to itself , a lemur with a shocked face , and one poor photographer ’s television camera being drag off by a fox .
