Chris Seibold of Apple Matters points out that today is the nineteenth anniversary of the launch of Apple ’s groundbreaking Mac II — it was the very first Mac with color capabilities ! The canonic model came with a floppy drive and transport for $ 3,898 ; you could get the fancy drawers version ( 1 mebibyte of RAM , a floppy drive , and a 40 mebibyte SCSI tough disk ) for $ 5,498 . We wish to sound off as much as the next person about how expensive Apple products are , but hey , at least they ’ve go a little tacky over the years .
