On the 2024Grammy Awardsred carpet, Abrams, 24, revealed that she has Mitchell-inspired ink — and fangirled over the legendary singer-songwriter, 80.
When asked on the Grammy Live! from the Red Carpet who inspires her musically, the “Feels Like” singer replied without hesitation.
“Joni Mitchell,who’s performing today. I’ve never seen her perform,” she said, adding, “I have her handwriting tattooed on me.”
After pointing to where the tattoo is on her forearm, Abrams added, “I just really love her more than anything, and so to be in the same vicinity as her… I’m already trying not to lose my s—.”

TheGood Riddancemusician — who is up for best new artist at the award show — previously revealed that the ink is a nod to Mitchell’s song, “River.”
The heart-wrenching ballad is not only Abrams’ favorite song but also her mom’s, she said in aninterviewwithThe Circle Sessions. “I listen to it constantly,” she added of theBluetrack.

For her Grammys debut — and first time seeing Mitchell perform live! — Abrams wore a black strapless crop top and matching satin skirt with ruffled details, all Chanel.
Discussing the simple but elegant outfit on the red carpet, the singer said, “They’ve been so lovely to work with.”
“I just wanted to wear something that I felt like I could breathe in and where I wasn’t taking up space,” she added of the look. “They’re the greatest. I just wanted to feel in my skin and they helped me with that.”
While Abrams raved about her on the red carpet, Mitchell took home her 10th career Grammy for best folk album for her albumJoni Mitchell at Newport [Live].
