Google has just signed a dealwith Luxottica . You may never had hear of ’em , but they ’re the eyewear manufacturer behind the likes of Oakley and Ray - Ban — and they could , possibly , possibly , make Glass cool . Perhaps .
The dealwill see Luxottica impart “ wreak design and manufacturing expertness ” to Google ’s Glass undertaking . Initially focussed on Ray - Ban and Oakley for the US grocery store , Luxottica will , apparently , plan and get a series of exclusive frames for Glass . Luxottica claims the result will “ meld mellow - oddment engineering science with avant - garde design provide the best in style , quality , and carrying into action . ” Whatever that imply .
Perhaps most interesting , though , is that Google will piggy - back on Luxottica ’s retail and wholesale statistical distribution channel , which is an indicant that Google is piercing to push Glass as a mainstream gimmick as presently as it can . It ’ll be a steady cognitive process , though . “ You ’re not going to see Glass on your favorite Oakleys or Ray - Bans tomorrow , ” explains Google . “ But today marks the scratch line of a new chapter in Glass ’s design . ”

Google has , of track , attempted tomake Glass more fashionable by itselfof late time — but , arguably , failed . Is a Ray - Ban and Oakley draw - in it ’s savior , or a railroad car clang hold off to happen ? [ Google ]
