All it take was for someone to slow down , call up things through , and succeed up on their lead in lodge to figure out Gambi ’s secret , and it really makes you believe to yourself that Jefferson really should n’t be doing this superhero thing alone . Together , Jeff and Anissa make a unnerving team , not in the least part because Anissa ’s a quick study .
Unlike her father , who ’s apparently only just now beginning to learn how to use his power in a miscellanea of unexampled and clever way , Anissa deduces that the forcefulness she gains from becoming super - durable can be used in both outspoken and exact way . Thunder is fast - tracking her room to becoming Freeland ’s new ( and potentially most effective ) costumed hero and what ’s great is that Jefferson is totally coolheaded with it . There ’s no green-eyed monster or contention or feelings of overprotectiveness — he ’s just jazzed as Hades that his girl takes after him in the superpowers department . That ’s also true of Jennifer , Jeff ’s youthful , who finally begins to evidence powerfulness of her own — electrical outbursts that she ca n’t assure .
As affirmative a timbre as “ The Book of Revelations ” might impinge on for the Pierce family line , if there ’s one matter Black Lightning ’s a big buff of doing , it ’s make hard pivots that project its characters in entirely different light than you were expecting .
